The Virtual Server System provides the most
powerful and cost effective alternative to buying and maintaining your own
dedicated server and Internet connections, With out the loss of reliability or
speed.
We provide true virtual servers using its own
unique proprietary technology. A virtual server is a powerful Internet
solution with all of the server capabilities that you need to make your
business more effective on the Internet.
"Virtual hosting", allows you to host
multiple virtual web hosts, each with its own domain name, FTP access, virtual
e-mail, and even set quotas on a single fully functional Virtual Server.
Why Choose A Virtual Server
The Virtual Server System is based on the idea of multiplexing (or
partitioning) a single physical server into an aggregation of multiple Virtual
Servers. This allows us to offer our clients the advantages of a dedicated
server (flexibility, control, and power) at a virtual server price.
Several third party applications has and can be
installed on the virtual server System to extend the capabilities of the
Server. These server extensions include products such as Microsoft FrontPage,
mSQL, RealAudio, RealVideo, and others.
Each Virtual Server includes its own set of
virtual services- HTTP (web), FTP, POP, IMAP, and SMTP. Each of which operate
in a "virtual environment", independent of any other account. This
leaves you with the flexibility to customize your virtual server to meet your
own preferences.
For example, your virtual server will include
an entire httpd directory tree. You will have your own cgi-bin, configuration
files (httpd.conf, et al), and log files (access, error, and referrer logs-
which you can combine if you would like). You can customize and configure your
Virtual Server's WWW service to meet your specific needs (and meet them
immediately) Since you have complete control of your Virtual Server. Similar
flexibility is provided for the other virtual services- FTP, POP, IMAP, and
SMTP.
Your Virtual Server will come with its own sendmail.cf, passwd, and aliases
files, each of which can be customized and modified to your liking. These
features are just the "tip of the iceberg" as to what is available
to you as a virtual server administrator.
A real Virtual Server is not simply a virtually
hosted site on a web server we control, rather we give you "virtual
root" access. When you telnet to your Virtual Server you will see
directories such as "dev", "usr", "bin",
"etc". In your "etc" directory you will find your own
"passwd", "aliases", and "sendmail.cf" file-
this allows you unlimited flexibility to add as many POP accounts, aliases,
auto responders as you would like.
With our Virtual Servers you will also find an
entire "usr/local/apache" directory structure including your own
httpd.conf, srm.conf, and access.conf files, your own logs, and cgi-bin.
Basically our Virtual Server acts and behaves like a dedicated server, you
have complete control of your web, ftp, and e-mail services. The basic
differences between a dedicated server and a Virtual Server is the disk space
and the price.
And yes this web site 'http://rshweb.com'
is being hosted on one of our Virtual Servers.
